Durga Puja, major festival of Hinduism, traditionally held for 10 days in the month of Ashvina(September–October), the seventh month of the Hindu calendar, and particularly celebrated in Bengal, Assam, and other eastern Indian states. Durga Puja celebrates the victory of the goddess Durga over the demon king Mahishasura. It begins on the same day as Navratri, a nine-night festival celebrating the divine feminine.

Durga Puja celebration at Dighi village see thousands of devotees, thronging with their family to enjoy mela festivities. There are food stalls, games, and so much more for the people to enjoy. It came to our notice that there was no adequate facility of drinking water in mela place. Only one CHAPAKAL was there for drinking water. That was not only inadequate, but also, its difficult to drink water directly from CHAPAKAL, especially for women, old age people, and very small children. So, Lakshya Peace Foundation put a stall of mineral water and 2000 mela visitors were served with 500 Litres of drinking water. People’s comfort and happiness brightened our faces.
