CANCER AWARENESS TALKS @SCHOOLS IN JHAJHA

On 10-08-2024, Lakshya Peace Foundation secretary and cancer specialist Dr Ravi Shankar, and social worker of Jhajha Surya Vats Ji conducted CANCER AWARENESS TALKS in Girls’s High School Jhajha and Mahatma Gandhi Boys’ School, Jhajha. Hundreds of boy and girl students and school teachers attended the program. Dr Ravi talked about various symptoms of cancer, methods of diagnosis and treatment. He articulated about various lifestyle aspects and food habits that everyone should follow to stay away from disease including cancers. Five important points that he stressed upon are:

(1) Eat Healthy Food: Low salt, low fat/oil. Include raw food like seasonal fruits, sprouts etc in your meal. Almost 1/3 of 24 hours’ food intake should be in form of uncooked raw food (which you can call as “LIVE FOOD”).

(2)Get up early in the morning and do 30-45 minutes of exercise/yoga daily, at least 5 days a week. If you do only walk, it should be brisk walk. But young people should also include exercise in their daily routine. Only walk isn’t sufficient for them.

(3)Don’t take stress in life. Bad times are always temporary. Meditation is a good way of de-stressing. Also, its important that you share stressful experiences with your near and dear ones. Sharing itself reduces your tension drastically.

(4) Avoid being overweight. Maintain a healthy BMI (Body Mass Index)

(5) Don’t ignore any health problem. Consult a doctor immediately.

Surya Wats Ji encouraged students to study well and be a good and responsible citizen. He stressed upon the need of good physical and mental health of everyone in society because only then citizens can work productively.
