A library/reading room was inaugurated at Dighi village (Block: Luxmipur, Dist: Jamui) on 13 July 2019. Ribbon cutting was done by honourable parents of the Secretary- Mr Rajendra Prasad and Mrs Renu devi. It was followed by lamp lighting by respected invitees.
This library has two reading rooms, one for boys and one for girls, each having capacity of 9 students. Common hall can accommodate few more students. So, at a time, total 25 students can read in this library. There are books of various kinds, magazines, and hindi newspaper.
The idea of library originated from very personal experience of our secretary who faced lot of difficulties during his student life in finding a place where he could study peacefully. Families in villages often have small homes and there are no place for the kids in the house where they can study/be creative without the disturbances of daily household chores. Libraries act as a place for learning and information sharing. Our library is located away from main road and so there is no disturbing sounds of vehicles/ market activities.
