Well! This is a bit long story. I shall do injustice to all those years when I (Ravi Shankar)  cherished working for under-privileged people (but which remained an unfulfilled wish) if I don’t write about them here. I promise I shall be as brief as possible. Please bear with me.

Since my childhood, whenever I saw wrong things around me, I would have strong urge inside me to change them. Garbage around me – Why? Villages without facilities for standard living – Why? Smoke emitting vehicles and dusty roads- Why? These Why’s were uncountable?

As I grew up and took admission in MBBS in B J Medical College, Ahmedabad, all these “Why’s” kept flashing in my mind and I kept searching for their answers – answers that could solve the problems that existed. Gradually, answers to all these questions started taking shape and I started figuring out how to contribute my bit in solving these problems. But, long study obligation kept me busy and away from home. There was always this strong desire to contribute towards the positive social changes at places where I stayed for my medical study but I couldn’t do much. Three constraints played role in this non-performance on social front – Time constraint, money constraint and lack of any such platform in areas where I stayed.

When I completed my specialization (DNB) in oncology from Max Super Speciality Hospital Delhi, the day when I received my final PG result, I had this sense of “liberation”. I changed my WhatsApp status as “Feeling liberated”. I knew that constraints that I was facing earlier would not be obstructing my path anymore. Post PG, after a short stint at Sterling Cancer Hospital, Vadodara, I moved to Patna and joined Mahavir Cancer Sansthan in November 2017. Then started the work on the dream I had kept preserved for 2 long decades. After months of home work and brainstorming sessions on what should be the name of our NGO and what issues we should work on, finally we registered our NGO by name of LAKSHYA PEACE FOUNDATION on 28 November 2019. Name credit goes to Dr Sneha Varsha (Eye Surgeon) who joined this NGO as President. It took us another few months before we could start working on ground when we inaugurated Library/Reading Room in Dighi village of Jamui district along with local office of Lakshya Peace Foundation (LPF) in the same building. So!!! This is the story of how Lakshya Peace Foundation was born.
